Dear Malia and Staff! Once again we can't thank you enough for the excellent care of our doggies! Wow!! You are the best dog trainer because we immediately noticed 2 amazing behaviours---They don't jump on us anymore, especially Eli and they both have dramatically improved with the frisbe catch!! Thank you for working with them and making their bodies and coats look like they went to a spa. I really like the play program and thanks so much for the last minute pick up and bed clean. YOU ARE THE BEST, BIG ALOHA, Annie, Chris, Dylan and Evan----Eli and Kimi, too 8/3/07 |

August 12, 2007 To: Malia and John/Owners of The Ohana Animal Inn From: Jill Carter & Bailey Carter Malia and John I wanted to take the time out to write you two a short note to let you both know how much I appreciate you taking care of my 14 year old Cocker Spaniel, Bailey Carter. I moved to Maui 3 years ago. Prior to that I lived in Los Angeles where I had a dog sitter that would come in and stay with Bailey while I traveled. The thought of boarding him was something that wasn't going to be an option for I felt by boarding Bailey he would not get the care and attention that he had become use to over the years. My groomer, Georgia who owns The Salty Dog Grooming Salon suggested that I take Bailey up to your camp for she knew how protective I was of Bailey and how I felt about leaving a dog at a kennel. Well I finally gave in to her suggestion and called you up to make an appointment to visit your facility. Well I was so pleased after leaving your Animal Inn that I booked Bailey for a three day stay over to see how he would do and how I would do honestly. Well the rest is history….He knows now when I gather up his belongings that he is going to have a true vacation up on the hill. He gets excited when I make that turn into your driveway. He loves to spend time out side looking at all of the other animals & birds that you have on your premise. And enjoys his play time with your staff when they play with him with a ball. But the bigger picture really is that I'm now able to leave the island for business and pleasure and never do I worry about his care or needs. You take care of his daily medicine which is very important to me and to his health. I'm able to relax and enjoy my time away and always look so forward to making that turn into the driveway to see him outside waiting for me. How lucky the community if Maui is to have such a safe and loving place to take their animals. Much aloha from Bailey and I. Thank you. |
My 10 month old Westie stayed at the Ohana Animal Inn for 4 nights... When I picked
her up, she looked sooo content and happy. There was one problem! She
didn't want to leave :) I had to carry her out! Thank you so much for
taking such wonderful care of my munchkin! |

User Reviews for Ohana Animal Inn Best Avaiable on the Island by a Landslide 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended 02/19/2008 Posted by Trine2 This inn is better than any other on the island by a landslide. No other inn gives the animals half as much outdoor area as well as time spent outside. No other inn offers playtimes with the sweet and enthusiastic employees. No other inn is nearly comparable in dedication to the health and safety of the animals. There is no one I know who I would trust more than Malia with my pets, and no one's staff that I would trust more with my pets. Do your animals a favor and don't even consider another inn. And shockingly, they have some of the cheapest prices on the island! If it's a long drive to Kula, suffer it if you love your pets. My doggies are actually happy to go there! Ps. Book early, this place is in high demand. Wonderful place. CLEAN place with FRIENDLY people who LOVE ANIMALS 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended 02/02/2008 Posted by michi581 I have a 1 year old Westie... I had to take a trip and was freaking out trying to find a good place to board her. I found Maile with Ohana Animal Inn on the internet and was impressed with the site. Tons of pictures! When we dropped her off, I was further impressed with the place. It's at the old Kula Zoo! Lots of space and it's CLEAN! No animal smells and all the animals looked healthy and well cared for. The check in process was easy! When we went back to get her, She did not want to leave. She lay down in the office and wouldn't walk out She kept "talking" to Maile!. lol I had to pick her up and carry her to the car! To me, That was an excellent sign that she had a great time and was very comfortable with the staff. I would absolutely return here. The BEST on Maui. |

Dear Malia, I just wanted to thank you for the great care you took of Stinky, Pepper, and Tosh our cats. They weren't traumatized at all and quickly adjusted to being back home, sitting on our laps. Thanks again, Shelly M. |

Aloha Malia! Again, thank you so much. Wow, Ellie was perfect- her weight was SO perfect, and both girls looked healthier after being with you. They had silky, shiny coats and their baths made them so soft and beautiful. The exercise given to them made them in incredible shape. Most important, they were emotionally well adjusted. That's proof that they really have a second home with you guys. We are so happy with the Ohana Animal Inn!!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and meticulous attention to details. It was evident that you really cared about the wellbeing of our pets because it really showed with the excellent results. We'll be back , if you'll have us!! Thanks again, Annie PS-Finally Kimi can catch her treats! Thanks for teaching her :) |

12-01-09 When in need of boarding for your pet on Maui while on vacation, I HIGHLY recommend The Ohana Animal Inn, in Kula. The facility is located on a beautiful piece of land with views of the ocean and of the West Maui Mountains. The location is a place I wouldn't mind taking a vacation at, so I always feel happy to leave my dog in their care. Ohana animal inn We've taken our cocker spaniel there for the past 3 years whenever we need to plan a trip to the mainland, and it's the best boarding facility I've ever seen. I especially like how reasonable the rates are, given its location and size. Dogs of any size are $25 a night. They take any pet, so you if own chickens, mice, or turtles, you are in luck! Check out their website for more information. We live in Kihei and the drive to Kula may be considered 'out of the way' for many, but the drive to the boarding facility is so beautiful that the drive is worth it. Just across the drive way of the boarding facility, is a small little farm with goats, turkeys, chickens, and geese. It's a lot of fun to see these animals, especially for my 2 year-old daughter, and it adds to the character of The Ohana Animal Inn. TIP: If you are planning on making reservations for your pet at The Ohana Animal Inn during the Thanksgiving or Christmas break, make sure you book early since it does fill up quickly! |
7/23/10 Dear Malia and John, Mahalo plenty for taking good care of our precious baby, Hula Girl, the English Bulldog. We are happy to have found you a few years ago; you have such a beautiful place and you are the most kind, creature loving people to leave our pet with. Every time we need kenneling, we know Hula will be well treated and enjoy making other doggy friends, too. Your little cards, notes, return e mails/ calls all mean a lot to us, too, especially when far away and worried (for no reason) about our dog. It's always a pleasure bringing her to 'Ohana and seeing the tidy facilities and lush grounds, abundant with plant life and other sweet animals. Appreciate you guys a lot, Aloha and A Hui Hou, Pono and Uluwehi |
